Small Potted Juniper: Which Fertilizer To Maintain Size and Not Overelongate?

I currently use an organic granular 10-10-10 with additional 20-0-0 NPK Raw for most of my trees in development and nursery containers.

But the goal for my new and bonsai potted JPN is to maintain its small size for maturing and ramifying. Which kind of fertilizer, then, should I use? What values are appropriate for this? Given that N contributes to elongation, I would want to avoid using it, right?

I would continue to use a balanced dilute fertilizer for the tree - whether 10-10-10 or less - understanding that more is not better and that the tree will take up what it needs and let the rest run out of the soil. Note that with bonsai you want your tree to be super healthy - but small. The smallness will be a function of constraining the roots and pruning the growth, NOT by denying it nutrients. You also want to make sure that you don't over-fertilize a potted tree, since it is very easy to burn roots if you apply too much fertilizer. Slow, low, and consistent is the key.
