Hi everyone..
I've had my bonsai for a couple of weeks now .. one day I said why don't I time lapse my bonsai so I did.
I was shocked at what I saw as when I played the time lapse there were creatures crawling up and down on my bonsai like a highway!
you can see what I'm talking about on this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXr6kgyzF68
so the question is, are these slugs harmful to the bonsai?
and how do I get rid of them?

Thanks!

That is really cool. I think I need to do something like that. Video, or were you set to take pictures at intervals?

Thank You, Yes I took these pictures at intervals for 3 days .. each day for nearly 3-4 hours

You have some amazing photography skills. as far as the bug goes, it moves to fast to be a slug i believe, and on its return down i thought i noticed it going into the soil. either way im not sure i would want something like that jumping ship into my house..

I would say its harmless unless you see allot of plant damage. Allot of slugs eat fungus hence beer traps work once they grow mold. Slugs are also attracted to other slugs so kill one they all come running. If you want a good poison use Ortho Bug-Geta Plus. I use it around my mushroom logs best I have found. I just pull of a mushroom and sprinkle a circle around it and I soon have a pile of them. If you want to keep it out of the soil just make a small shallow tin foil cup with it in it. Drop a mushroom in the cup with the poison any slugs should show up and all join each other. Could do the same with beer in tin foil but odds are the slugs avoid it till you see mold.

It's time-lapse photography, so it probably is a slug. This isn't a video, it's a set of pictures put together.
