Here is a Privet that my dad and I have had for several years. It's a fun little tree, and it grows like a weed.
The first picture is from 2011, and the second is from 2015. This was planted at the angle that it came when we bought it.
This year, during its repotting in our Spring Hagedorn study group, Michael suggested changing the angle to accentuate the quirkiness of the trunk. I like it much better this way, although the other day wasn't terrible. My dad will continue working it with him in the study group. I've now been promoted to being Michael's full time apprentice.
The third picture is my dad, Michael, and myself discussing the angle change in March, and the final image was from today.
The pot is one size larger than what we would use for a show, but we like the shape and color. This tree will undergo some maintenance pruning in the spring.
