Tidal Bonsai
Omono
I saw the diamond in the rough, and was compelled to pick up this tree over the winter.

First, the tree needed a pot because the glazed bag does not suit it at all. This Korean wood fired pot has been sitting on my shelf for at least 5 years, and it was a perfect fit!!!

Second, the tree needed an angle change for some more movement/taper and interest.

Third, the deadwood appeared very flat, so I used hand tools to make it more interesting.

Fourth, the foliage looked like a ball shaped hedge, and needed some asymmetry. I pulled down the branches with guy wires, and will eventually detail it out when it’s ready

I am taking my time since Ito foliage reverts to scale if not worked slowly. This is where I am at currently in this trees overhaul, and so am very happy with how it’s developing so far!!!
