Shitakusa for shimpaku juniper

Hey gang,

I am going to be displaying a shimpaku juniper in spring and am curious what people think is the appropriate Shitakusa to accompany it. And could you give me reasons why you chose those plants, grasses, etc.? Thanks!

Choose something to evoke the mountainous habitat and the spring season.
Maybe a dwarf alpine carnation with a single subtle bloom, thyme, or dwarf iris.
