I'm pretty new to this art and learning as I go.

I'm considering adding Moss to a few of my Bonsai.

Is this a product that can be used? Or should I return it and look elsewhere.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm not that big of a fan of sheet moss because it's usually forest moss that grows in the shade. If you put that in a bonsai pot it will die quick.

I prefer pillow mosses, also called pincushion moss; the soft cushions that grow on rocks and parking lots and concrete. Those types are resilient and handle bonsai container conditions a bit better.

Sheet moss is sold in the floral trade. It is dead, often died and sometimes treated with glycerin to keep it supple.
Don't use it.

My wife got me this for Christmas. "You can use this for your bonsai right?".

Ummm....

As said, this is lichen not moss. It will eventually dry up (particularly if placed in the sun and wind) and get crunchy. Won't hurt the tree for the most part, but not real great for much of anything.
