Second day in a row that started out beautifully. Upper 50s, lower 60s with clouds, a light breeze and high humidity (in the 80%+ range). Wednesday and Thursday I spent a combined 10 hours working on my Native Grassland Seed and Pollen Dispersal Program. I was able to cover about 45 acres. Once the sun burns off the clouds, the temperature climbs quickly, and the comfort level drops dramatically.

Ok, OK. So my "Native Grassland Seed and Pollen Dispersal Program" consists of mowing the open fields on the railyard. But this just sounds better.
Sunday was ugly here. You could walk outside and taste dirt before you even took a breath. It was windy, but the dust came from hundreds of miles away methinks. 2 hours before sunset, the sun wasn't visible at all. The sky was brown-gray, but the only clouds were made up of dust.
But Monday morning when I got to work, puddles everywhere.

Maybe we'll get some in town at the end of the week. Here's hoping. Screenshot_20250430_061703_Weather.jpg
Today looks pretty good, but through the weekend looks GREAT! Still hopeful.

Today is amazing. Guess this weekend we will get a drop in temps. But onset of summer. 14 hours of daylight is getting towards summer length evenings. Just one more month and we hit the 16 hrs sun / sunset by 9:30 and no absolute darkness. Summer is about to come!

It's raining again, as it has been since last Friday. And not little showers, full on thunderstorms with thunder, lightening and strong winds. There were some suspected tornado touchdowns last night a half hour or so from me. I saw on the news this morning that this April has broken the record from the 1800's for the wettest April in history here. It's May 1st and the farmers around here are getting antsy. More rain is forecast for tomorrow and all weekend :(.

Can't get much nicer than this! Swampy and muddy at work today. Finally got a long, soaking rain early last night. Not as much at the house, but still enough leave standing water this morning when I left. Gimme a muggy day anytime...
...as long as it's because of rain!

Last night my BC swamp tank recorded 6" level rise from the rain!!! Official weather station said 5.63"

wow..
Send some our way please. We are severely lacking water here. End of February they closed the tap upstairs and I think we have had 3 rainstorms since, instead of every other day rain which would be normal this time of year..

Decided to pull stats. For April not yet available.

Monthlies compared to the 2000-2020 timeframe averages:

Jan saw 2.9C as temp, which was spot on average, Feb, 3,5c (0.2c warmer) and march 6.8 (.8 degrees warmer)
Jan has 154% of average rainfall (109mm = ~4 inch), Feb 59% (37mm, 1 1/2 inch) March 5% (3,1mm, 1/8 of an inch only!)
Jan had 79% of sunshine hours (39hrs), feb 119% @ 84.8 hrs, March 175% (211,5 hours).

April will proove to be just as dry and sunny. And probably warm.

Wanna trade a couple days?Screenshot_20250513_121622_Weather.jpg
The sky was just dingy brown this morning, even before the wind started. At least the humidity is up a little bit at 18%. Now it's blowing dust. Again. Hope my son waters properly.

Another dry, windy, dingy air day. By 1830 the sun had gradually faded into the dust in the sky to become more or less invisible in the west. Humidity is up from 17% at 0600 this morning.

Temps are dropping back to a cool 65-70F. At the end of the week we might be having rain. Would be great, as Germany is having a once-in-50 year drought this spring. Over hald of the country is deepred, which means: once in 50 years. Only a small strip in the middle of the country is not in extreme drought as there in mid-April a band of rain pulled through.

Most of the state of Wisconsin is without a meteorologist-in-charge and now the atmospheric science program is ending at our local university.

Looks like reasonable rain for a week to come. Bit cool for the first week with night falling back to 5c/41F this weekend, but then back to summer.

13c = 55F
24c = 75F

We're finally getting typical seasonal weather. Glad you're getting some rain!Screenshot_20250523_172342_Weather.jpg
0% chance for rain. While it's raining. A two foot rain.
