Hi all!

I recently picked up a small Serissa from an online retailer. I guess I didn’t pay enough attention when I ordered, but it has been trained in a raised root style(pics attached). I’m not really a fan of this and while I would like to show some root, the tree’s proportions are off with it being so raised.

My question is - when I go to repot(I’ll leave it for this season and just let it acclimate) can I get away with trimming and or burying the roots to make it less raised? Any advice is appreciated!

No problem planting Serissa lower.
Serissa also root extremely easily so I wouldn't hesitate to just chop all the roots at the horizontal section and plant it with root stumps. 99% chance of survival.

Thank you! That’s what I wanted to hear :)

Just be aware that Serissa can be temperamental. Even looking sideways at one can make it drop all the leaves, so if the leaves suddenly drop off and it looks dead, it is probably just looking for sympathy. After a few weeks they seem to come out of the sulks and start growing again.
