In what I'm hoping is a good stroke of serendipity I found this boxwood discarded on the side of the road in the woods. Someones landscaping disposal?

The roots were mostly fine (not thick) but fairly dry minus a dirt ball in the middle. And the plant is still green. I cut a few thick roots on the spot. Dug some dirt into a pot waterd it and brought it home where I more properly repotted it.

So fingers crossed. I don't know much about boxwood other than I generally dislike them in a landscape. But this guy has some cool deadwood and, if he makes it, is well on his way to interesting bonsai. If anyone sees any alarm bells in the photos as far as pests or catastrophic disease let me know. I noticed a few leaves are cupped or curled inward and there are some white lines on a few of the leaves (see photos).
