I am in the process of moving and am selling my collection of pre-bonsai trees/ yamadori which I have had in training for 2+ years.

If you are looking to get into bonsai, or to build up your collection, I believe this is a great opportunity to do so.

I have 7 trees total, interested in offering discount if you would like to purchase everything

1 Large juniper (cascade style) $300
1 Small juniper (extreme cascade) $100
1 Small Raspberry Bougainvillea $100
2 Small pink bougainvillea (root over rock) $75
2 Small pink bougainvillea $50

Cash only, all sales will be final. Interested and serious buyers are welcome to come check on the trees for themselves.

You probably shouldn't advertise that you want to sell a juniper for $100 that you bought for $4. Might tell you something about your prices, too...

Otherwise good luck with the sale.

Recommendations?

The Flower Market in Monroe, MI. The owner's name is Kurt. Not sure exactly where you live in the state but that's the the best place for pre-bonsai in SE MI. I bought these two shimpaku from him, $45 each:

Also make sure to check out any local Mom 'n' Pop nursery. I've picked up a lot of decent trunks which I'm now in the process of grafting shimpaku on.

They're all a lot smaller now, but you get the idea. The one the OP had listed was a baby compared to any of these. At $300 it was a little laughable.

Thanks for the tip Bobby.
I have been to the Flower Market but it is a long drive from Ferndale where I live just to browse or even attend classes.
I had been to the Four Seasons show at Bordines last year but heart bypass surgery kept me at home awhile.
Attended the Meijers Garden show and was blown away and that is why I am fired up again to start the hobby.

It's an hour away for me, looks like your drive is only about 10 minutes longer :) It's worth the trip IMO. If you want to meet up there one day send me a message. I'll also hike out with you to one of my favorite local nurseries which would be closer to 40 minutes drive for you. I picked up this chunky San Jose there this year for $35. He usually always has nice junipers with decent trunks.

I probably saw you there!

Mike,
Are you involved with training as well? I just went through a major life change
( heart surgery ), and thought I would like to spend time with this art form.
Regards,
Leonard

Mike,
Just looking for a mentor to start me on the right path is all.

I'm truly flattered but I'm no mentor. This is only my 5th year back doing bonsai myself. After a 20 year hiatus.

You could do a lot worse. Just re-read and understand most of us have
more tough "crust" than the day old section of a bakery. But Mike knows
more than enough to get you started.

And this may be his 5th week. Really? don't act like you have never had
to steady a bike for that first "solo" take off. We all have.Just takes a few to
start with & it takes the terror out of "ripping it out of a pot and sawing the
entire bottom off". Besides I gave you a compliment; you know how rare
those are from me.
