Seedling identification

Hello everyone,

I have this little seedling of what I think is a little Japanese maple.

I sow some seeds from different species about two months ago and this one was the first to come out.

Is this really a Japanese maple? I have doubts because of the shape of the leaves but the “trunk” is red and the leaves turned a bit purple with the sun.

That’s a negative on the Japanese maple.

I like these..

They are "Pot Marigolds" I believe..

Perennial Wildflower..

Not a tree.. but can get woody and interesting.

I had a couple neat twisty ones I worked on for over a year..

My cat, Peach, thought they were delicious.

Hahah thank you, I eventually decided to put it in the garden and let it grow.

Its a marigold... would be interesting to try as bonsai... do french marigold last indefinitely???

No I dont think so, they usually are anual or very short lived perennials
