So, I found these in my backyard and have no idea what they are.... they came from a neighbors tree, so I really have 0 idea... any thoughts? If it helps, they range from 4-12 inches... I’m wondering if the tree is even bonsaiable/if the leaves will reduce nicely.

Welcome to Crazy!

If they are from Locust, you have to scarify the seeds and it takes a while. Not the easiest start.

Hm... thanks for the help! Are there other plants it could be? I’ve read that acacia can have these pods as well? If it helps, here’s the tree I suspect them of coming from.

Perhaps you could complete your profile and give a location and climatic zone. It would help to know for those wishing to provide assistance.

Any chance of a close shot of the leaves and bark on that tree? There are many trees with pods like that.
Probably not acacia. Acacia pods are much smaller.
Where in the world would really help narrow down possibilities.
