I don't mean to speak for him, but I think he may mean the places where you've got two branches coming out of the trunk at the same height creating a visual "ladder" effect.

Bonsai is 360 degree art so during its progression make sure you don't overlook its development from all angles (back, side, front, other side). This is something i learnt the hard way!
Give this tree lots of sun however sheltering from harsh direct evening sun keeps the needles bright green for longer!
