Giving this tree its own thread, just picked it up a few days ago. Wondering if it’s worth it to chop that secondary trunk shorter and build with more movement, or keep the long section and begin building the crown.

Have a few proposed cuts for that second trunk. Undecided on the third trunk coming out of the bottom.

Went and brushed off all the loose leaves. Little bit more clear now. Also the back side. Hidden thick branch coming from back there.

IMO I'd make the chops throw it in a big grow box and give it time. Beautiful start! I'd love to have a project tree. I'm still trying to get there.

A saw is required here - but nice find!

Definitely a clear front and back on this one. Couple more photos. Nebari is best on this side, and just the overall appearance. Slightly angled might work too.

Slightly angled definitely works, I was thinking this when I first saw it. And both side stumps reduced to rings futher back. Nice material

Maybe

Any Idea what you would do with the third branch coming out of the back? Wondering if It's worth cutting it back and having it form part of the crown for depth purposes. Or removing the entire thing and letting a new branch sprout to use that's much smaller.
