Scrogdor
Chumono
This is the other tree I picked up over the summer at lone pine. Got it at a slight discount. Took off some large dead stumps and will clean those up further later so they can heal. It almost died over the summer at the nursery because it got unhooked from the drip system. Seems to have recovered though.
Tree is 16” Tall 2” trunk.
In most viewing directions there is no inverse taper, however in one it’s pretty obvious because of the way the trunk is twisting upwards (one line of site it’s more narrow and then in another it’s wider).
First picture is what I had in mind for the front if I keep the tree with its current height and just accept the inverse taper in one direction.
Last picture is the inverse taper. Could probably layer it maybe and make a small thick tree. I’d prefer to keep the tree as is, but curious what others think.
