This Sabina Juniper was doing well until extreme heat in September. Not sure if it was heat stress or pests (scale, spider mites?). I began treating with Neem Oil and alternated with Capt. Jack's Super Soap. I'm not seeing any improvement. We are now in cooler weather and rainy season here in Southern California. Any hope?IMG_5366.JPGIMG_5367.JPG

Ooh yeah. Spider mites is a good guess.
However, have you seen any of the indicators of spider mites?
I have many Sabina juniper‘s, and have had spider mites infest them from time to time.

Usually, I’ll notice a very light white dusting on the foliage. When it gets more serious webbing may occur.

Some will shake the foliage over a white sheet of paper to see if these tiny bugs become apparent.

Lots of light and soil moisture monitoring is my best generic advice.

At least the new growth looks healthy. If you spray neem during the hot season you have to be careful. It is oil after all. I spray a small amount of neem mixed with pesticide, and only at night to avoid burning.
