Trying my hand at something a little more ambitious this time. Picked up a Green Island Ficus last Wednesday, was dealing with some emotional pain and thought it would help. Anyway I got it home and got to thinking what to do with it, the roots were growing out of the nursery pot about 6 inches so thought root over rock. Looking at the rocks I had collected none was big enough. So I found two more rocks and used epoxy to attach them to a piece of slate.
Hopefully it will survive . That long root was able wrap around the rocks. I think it will look great in a few months.

Got new shoots and some new roots as well. But it's dropping leaves. Getting the watering schedule correct with a humidity holding plastic bag has proved difficult. Defoliation creates smaller leaves.

The roots still need a few months or longer under wraps but he's healthy with lots of vigor. The vertical branch is a sacrifice which I plan to root at the end of the summer. All in all I am very proud of this tree.
