Here is a group of junipers I have been working on for about 7 years. I just recently detail wired this group...I think it is their third time to be wire trained. The accent plants are kusianum azaleas. These junipers were purchased as 6" seedlings somewhere around 2000... Then grown in the ground for a few years.

I've not seen a Robusta before. Very nice piece.

It is a vertical grower with foliage similar but a little more course than shimpaku... Very susceptible to spider mites...its a constant battle in my garden.

Thanks John. I can see this on a rock slab. OH and did Arthur J. guide you on the design?

Thank you Doug... Arthur didn't have any input on this...at least not directly:)

Nice group! Thanks for posting the video.

Any chance you have any pics from earlier in the development process? Also, are the R. kiusianum's white or purple? I'd like to see a pic when those are in bloom.

Those are some colorful leaves on the Azaleas! Great looking group!

Looking for a source for R. kiusianum's--small plants for under story use like you did. Do you have a source you can recommend?

Hey Chris... Here is a photo from Nov 2007...soon after I had put it together and before I added the azaleas...which are purple...I dont have pics because I have been sacrificing blooms for ramification...I hope to have a few blooms this season.

Try Julian Adams....his are small but usually pretty cheap. He also has KaKuo(?) which is another small leafed and small flowered hybrid satsuki that I think would make an excellent accent on a rock or slab planting....I bought 15 from him at the last show....young cuttings.

I have at least 3 variations and they came from a local source years ago, Julian, and New England Bonsai.
