My beloved 2 mile stretch of rural roadside before and after a mid-summer scalping. Heartbreaking , to be sure, but many of the stumps will come back this spring. The last pic is a small camphor tree just nicked by the mowers. It's got a nice 1" plus trunk and a fair bit of ramification. There are dozens of specimens like this along the blacktop. I found one 50 feet away about the same height with a 2" plus trunk.
