Random Taiwanese Bonsai Finds

Wow, looks like some great stuff there, how are the prices?
Considering how developed some of the trees are the prices are actually very reasonable. The last pine was US$150 I think. Many 'developed' shohin there between US$70-120. Mame cheaper. Larger trees way more
The flowers and plants are also awesome there. Picked up 6 decent sized air plants for a total US$8.20230401_102358.jpg20230401_102414.jpg

Wow, what is the last tree? The trunk is incredible.
I am not sure. It is a coastal species. and the beach is about 200-300m (650'-980') away.
The trunk is why I took the pic. It was large as well. I think the pot was about 90+cm (3'+) across.

It would be great if there were somewhere here like that, or maybe not. I don't have a lot of self restraint....
I agree with you, I rather spend more money on nicer trees like those than constant looking for trees to buy online and always ended up buying many crappy trees just for the sake of buying lol.

Jianguo flower market is a lot of fun to visit- while the tree prices are certainly enticing, what drew my eye there was the orchid vendors. One vendor had a massive range of stock, mostly seedlings of various S.E Asian species (my Mandarin was not good enough to understand his explanation of plant import/export quarantine law, but he did try his best.)

Was tempted to sneak one in my luggage but I chickened out. In retrospect I probably should have looked for pots, which do not fall under “動植物疫檢法律”.
