20151225_140356.jpg Hey guys, looking for some advice here. I have a berberis that I purchased last year. I did some pruning back today, and was wondering what you think. I'm thinking maybe I should prune the far right branch that curves way back low, so I can get more of a rounded shape when it matures. What do you think? What other suggestions do you have?

Nice! I cut mine today too!
For Jesus!

I can't spin it....but if the red line is horizontal.....I'd like to see it there.....

Or even the other way too actually!

Looking at mine today.....I figured best wait till spring.....to see Whats gonna do what.....so many buds...

I'll say this....I covered a few quarter inch cuts made in summer....maybe late spring....and they healed real well!

There's one healing well front and center....
But the hole in the bottom right....nasty black....I think the thick bark let water in....gotta do something else!

Can you put another pic of that right side from a different angle?

Sorce, I'd just uro that bad boy.
I see what you're saying about the angle. A slight rotation counter-clockwise would open it up more. It's dark now, but I'll get another pic up tomorrow.
I still think I should cut the far right branch way back. I'm trying to imagine a rounded crown in full foliage.

No offense.....but I read into these things.....and I don't think you should have to TRY to Imagine.

I believe....you may be thinking to hard....
Or....not letting the tree "talk" to you..
Yes...I believe in this.....in the reasonable sense!

And if that is a home depot size pond basket.....that thing is likely big enough to pull this off. This is what it tells me...at the tilt angle.

A lot of individual pads...and a lot more "tree" in small ass space.
3 trees!

The way these grow....I think you could start building branches now.
Maybe take this back a little further now...
But I feel like if you want to regrow anything, though time consuming...you WILL get another bud there!

I'm gonna find some projects here that inspired me to get another....

You know what else.....I read they feel these bad luck in Japan....
I think I'll cut one every thirteenth thirteen times at 3Am and see what happens! Lol.
It seems easier than ACTUALlY taking these things!

You know what else....
It would take a block behind that back right corner....leaning left and REALLY heavy toward the viewer.

Maybe even planted in the right crevice eggshell dinosaur egg pot.

Let me find those smoky Links.

Just for fun. Try tilting it about 45 degrees to the right.
That's actually a brilliant idea! Simple solution :).

Here it is rotated a full 45 degrees. I could obviously get away with less. I lost the top of the left branch when I rotated, but it's evident that it effectively raised the left branch and lowered the right one.
