Bonsai folks - one thing that I value almost above all on this forum is the time and effort that people put into educational progression threads. They are absolutely invaluable to newbs like myself and experienced folks alike to show what's possible and how to get from point A to point B.
I know we can search for threads from members and for info, but I think it would be powerful for the community to be able to point folks to a single resource for great progressions. I'd like to volunteer to make and update a Progressions Resource that keeps up a list of nicely documented progressions from our members here. I got the idea from here, and other posts talking about it: https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/progressions-forum.27393/#post-450043
Here's where the rubber hits the road - I need help finding the best helpful progressions on the site to put together a comprehensive list to start with. Which progression threads have been most helpful to you in your bonsai journey? Help me out!

Does Brian Van Fleet have one for his Chishio maple somewhere? Or his ROR trident?
Any from here have threads? https://www.bonsainut.com/threads/the-5-to-10-year-progression-thread.35597/

Arakawa Japanese Maple
I made two air-layers on an Arakawa maple in early May. About 8 weeks later one was ready to be separated as seen below. The reason for striking these layers is that I need them for root grafts to improve the nebari of the parent tree. This work will be done next Spring. In the process...
Acer Ginnala styled
I wanted to start a thread to keep track of the progress for this Amur maple I purchased from a member here about two and half years ago. A couple of weeks ago it was completely wired and styled into a sort of informal broom, or at least the beginning of one. It was repotted into a Tokoname...
Japanese maple #5 progression
This is a progression series of one of my Japanese maples. I acquired this fairly large tree back in late Summer of 2008 from a grower in upstate NY. Despite the fact that it is believed to be a standard green maple, it has pretty small leaves and its internodes are short. Interestingly enough...
PIGLET CHAPTER 2
I purchased and picked up Judy's famous trident maple "PIGLET" last year in the fall. As the story goes, I originally wanted to buy this tree from Don a few years back. When I contacted him to pull the trigger I was disappointed to know that someone else had beaten me to the punch. About a week...
Pigletts Progress
Here is my little Trident Maple for the PP challenge. The tub that it's sitting in currently is 20" in diameter, so I think that it should be eligible. The first picture is as purchased this past fall. I've done some work on reducing the branches down to what I'll use for the framework of...
Field-grown trident
OK - so this is the furthest along of several tridents I've been growing in the ground. I've not done this before, but have had a lot of fun trying and learned a ton about what to do (and not to do) when doing this. I purchased this as one of several trees about 5-6 years ago in 25 gallon...
Bunjin with Ben
Nearly six years ago I drove out to Lake Charles to work with Ben Oki when he came to town. I brought with me a boxwood dug up from a hedge row that I’d recently purchased. Ben is gone now, but I’m so glad I made the drive out there. It was the last time I saw him. Here’s Ben and I at the...
Developing a large Willow Leaf Ficus
... and lessons learned. This was a tree I purchased in about 2008. Being a slow learner, I wasted a lot of years of work on the tree. I defoliated it a couple of times a summer and wondered why my growth was so poor and development was so slow. Starting in 2013, I completely changed my...
Shohin Willow Leaf Ficus
I thought I'd share one of my Shohin ficus. It was defoliated about 6 weeks ago - I plan on using it as part of my display for the fall show. Scott
Collected Winged Elm
I've posted pictures of this elm on a number of different threads. But it's a big boy - thought it deserved a thread of its own. I believe that this is a Winged Elm - Ulmus alata, although it may be a Cedar Elm - Ulmus crassifolia as well. It was dug and chopped by longtime Houston Bonsai...
Euonymus alatus, burning bush, spindle tree
I just got done collecting a large burning bush from my back yard. It was getting too big for where it was located so the wife decreed that it would be destroyed. After seeing Walter Pall's Euonymus I figured it might be somewhat promising. The collection wasn't too bad. It took about an...
