Practicing Trunk Movements (Bends and Twists)

My Juniper Procumbens #1 is currently a Semi-Cascade back in development with the plan to become an informal upright, bunjin, or literati type of style.

As you can see, I use tinfoil to practice trunk bends and create styles. More than likely I will apply wire and create the featured style at the end of fall 2023.

I also intend to flare the roots over stone/slab upon repotting in 2025 to thicken the tree/fill-out into its new style

Having done a LOT of this, in my experience, getting these tight bends is really only an option with very young material - seedlings and cuttings.
