My tiger bark ficus has been accepted for the September US National Bonsai Show. I want to repot it into a shallower and wider pot to make the tree look bigger. The tree is 20" tall and 36" wide. I have been thinking of using a a cream color oval pot with lip; I saw a ficus with a similar type of cream color pot at the recent Austin bonsai show, I really like the contrasting combination. However, I could not find such a pot. I only have a 16" cream color oval pot, which is too small for this tree. I can buy the green oribe or light blue 18 1/2" Reiho pots online; but have not decided how good they will look with my ficus. Perhaps an unglazed dark brown pot will also look good with the tree.
What do you think and any suggestions?
If you have a pot that will fit my tree and are willing to sell, please let me know. Thanks.
