Here is a small tree that was misidentified at the nursery.

I am guessing hawthorn. What do yopu think?

Without scale, my first impulse was currant. But I agree with @yenling83. It's probably a hedge maple.

Definitely NOT hawthorn which have alternate growth pattern. This one has opposite leaves so much more likely maple of some sort.
My guesses: Acer campestris (hedge maple) or Acer tataricum ssp (Amur maple)

Thank you all! What surprise me is the rounded leaves compaterd to the maples I have (rubrum, amur, sugar)
