Planting angle question

I tree leaning forward says. "I just may crush you"
While one leaning away says. "Have no fear"

I do agree the apex should lean forward and over the viewer.
And the" open arms" theory.

It's amazing...depending on the topic of a thread. Some threads discuss "out of the box thinking and creativity" (No particular thread...I've seen a few though pop up since my time here none stand out over the rest) yet others are black and white rules to go by and no gray area. Surely...if the tree has many aspects going for it the gray area fades a bit. I guess what I am saying is... It's worth considering breaking one rule if many other aspects that are so noticeable that the gray area isn't as focused on as other aspects of the tree. Yes...bonsai has structure and rules ones try to go by...but, surely it's not written in stone if one is losing other strong features of bonsai in following one rule. If other rules are applying still...that make it a strong and intriguing tree.

Though I'm relatively new...I would think...what brought out the best of the tree applies. Aren't we always told...let the tree tell you what it wants to be?

Ok, I have a curious question, one of my buttonwoods, the one with all of the deadwood that I tilted
And changed the angle on... I can't post a link cause on my phone.

Anyways, the deadwood on the one side adds more interest to the tree
And in my opinion would make the better front, however this side has no visible
Live vein, which gives the appearance of the tree being perhaps a pheonix
Graft. The tree is not, but to have to not explain to the viewer it is not, I
Have decided to go with the side that shows the live vein. It is not as
Interesting... so am I wrong ??? Do you go with the side that holds more
Interest and have to explain the tree, or go with the side that the viewer
Wants to see??? This is a major fundamental rule in deciding the front of a tree
With deadwood as well...

As I am familiar with the tree I don't recall seeing an image with a live vein. With that said, I never though it was a Phoenix and never asked the question either. I guess I'm abnormal because I would think it would be pretty cool (and an excellent display of my skills) if I had something like it and a seasoned bonsai artist asked me if it was Tanuki. So for me, I would choose the side that interests you and let everyone else wonder or not.

If I saw a tree I thought was a tanuki(b.s. imo) and realized it wasn't(curiosity), I would say to myself, "oh $#×+, that is awesome", and proceed to find the artist.

But that's me!

Also, I agree with the "rule" that says show both live vein, and deadwood from the front.

I am birulable!
