Out of Bonsai Wire? Need some wire quickly? Shop here…

Michael’s arts and crafts or nearly any store with floral equipment. A few weeks ago I found 5 rolls of 1.5-2.5mm aluminum wire at Michael’s. This wire commonly sold at bonsai stores online can be easily acquired locally.

Arts and crafts wire is mostly sold in very small rolls of 50 or 100 grams and that is not very economical IMO.

In the past I always bought 500 gram rolls but the last time I bought aluminium wire in 1kg (1000 grams) rolls at the bonsai Trophy.

I don’t think it’s ever taken more than 5 business days for me to receive wire that I purchased online from a bonsai supplier. Also, aside from the one time when a significant branch broke on one of my junipers but still had a section of cambium that remained connected, thus presenting the possibility of saving the branch by acting quickly to wrap and wire it so it would remain moist and have structural support from the wire, I haven’t encountered any circumstances in bonsai that call for emergency wiring.
