Osmocote versus Biogold

I use Milorganite https://www.milorganite.com/ in tea bags as the base slow-release fertilizer and Miracle Grow once every week or two as a boost. Milorganite is inexpensive and I've used it for decades as a general landscape fertilizer.

At the risk of starting a fertilizer war LOL, does anyone have any comments on this?

It says the ratio is 6-4-0:
"Milorganite’s analysis is 6-4-0, which guarantees it contains at least 6% nitrogen, 4% phosphorus, and less than 1% potassium."

So it is not a complete fertilizer. But if it is cheap, it is good. That said, I agree with the general philosophy of using mostly chemical fertilizer, rather than organic, for potted plants.
If it is cheat, Milorganite sounds like a great landscape fertilizer.

That's why I keep up the Miracle Grow dosing. I also use about 20-25% organic material in my soil mix for nutrient holding capacity.

Milorganite (Milwaukee Organic Nitrogen) I help make that stuff!

Personally I use both Bio-Gold and Osmocote. I only use a tiny amount of Osmocote and a lot of bio gold. I also use a few different liquid fertilizers. You def don't need to just stick w/ one.

Cool! What to you think of its use on bonsai? I have never been able to find a complete analysis of macro- and micro-nutrients, perhaps this changes with the batch. Do you have access to an analysis?
I didn't mean it in the way you're thinking I meant it. I don't work at the factory I just live in the city of Milwaukee and make normal use of the sewer system.

That's my really basic boilerplate routine.

I use many different fertilizers depending on what I want my tree to do. Using the same fertilizer routine on every tree will keep you frustrated. I could go on and on.

Conifers in refinement get biogold solid fertilizer. In the spring they also get maxsea or foliage pro depending how I see their growth progressing with iron or cal-mag as a suppliment. Pines don’t get any fertilizer this time of year. I'll start fertilizing again mid August to prepare them for winter.

Osmocote is for plants in development not for plants in refinement.
