and it brings up every comment, thread and fart I have made on the forum.

Going to ADVANCED

and selecting ...Oak
Titles only
Mike Corazzi


and......same search pops up.

And it brought up every post I have ever made.

Yeah, it seems the search module looks whether a username has been specified, and it will search for the posts from that user, and ignores the rest.

I've had google f-ing up my searches lately due to some cookies or whatever happened.
I remembered then that there's also something most search engines have built in that's called exclusion.
Add a dash or a minus before a term to exclude those results. Sometimes the word NOT will also help.

For example: "Mike Corazzi"+"Oak"-"English"-"Robur"

And that means that sometimes, when searching in google, you're adding more exclusions than inclusions. But it really helps filtering the results.
I'm not sure what the search engine on bonsai nut is built from, but most of the search engines have some kind of exclusion built in.
