You could open up the chair and tables, set the plants under, on top of the doormat(drenched) and drape a sheet loosely over the top...... south facing balcony can be troublesome

I have a 30 percent sunshade tarp being delivered tomorrow so ill set that up as soon as it comes, mon and tues are the worst days so tomorrow should be ok with plenty of misting? But if i wake up and they look sad ill throw them under the tables lol

im also worried about blocking the light too much? or can they survive under the big table for a week?

Protect the roots. Keep them watered and out of the sun. I put white towels over pots to shield them from sun and slow evaporation when temps hit the 90s and triple digits. If the tops of the trees have been on the balcony in the sun before the heat they should be ok. Watch for wilting — get trees into shade for a while and make sure they’re adequately watered.

Ok I moved the larch and the maple, which i stupidly just defoliated a couple weeks ago to the leaves are babys completely under the table cus those two suck water hard.... the rest im ok with being damaged worst case lol. IMG_4090.jpeg

I'd just buy a piece of plywood and metal wire it on top of the balcony for those 3 days. 30% may not be enough combined with wind effect.

A week of shade is no real problem. A week may be long enough for leaves to lose sun hardiness so you may want to ease them back into sun a few hours extra each day after

Does a patio above you provide some shade? Which way does this face? Where are your shadows?

Personally, I have no way of moving all my trees to shade. My plan is simply more watering.

It hit 91 F here in SE MI with dew points at 78 F... 🤯... for most of the day. I didn't need to water as the soil was still wet from the previous day's rain. Higher humidity is always helpful when the heat ramps up as it decreases the transpiration needs of the trees. Also, plants tend to go semi-dormant at temps this high and that deceased their water needs as well. On a roof top patio/balcony garden, shade and wind protection will be key I'd say. I think they'll be fine with as long as you can limit the afternoon sun exposure.

Going to be just as humid today with high temps of 97 and 98 tomorrow.
