The final composition is pretty nice in my opinion. The dabbled glaze w size of foliage and the tree is nice. 8 years from seed or small

I love your tree the way you've styled it.

My experience, window screen and really fine roots don't go together well, as you experienced. The screen is too fine mesh so when the roots grow thru and start to thicken they get stuck hard. Also the fine mesh of a window screen can clog with fines and impact drainage over time. I use plastic screen I buy at Walmart or Michael's (I think it's called crafter's grid or something like that, my Ex used it for cross stitching) that is about the same size as the bonsai screen I used to get online but way cheaper. Hope you find that useful.

Love your screenname! Just fyi- That was Hinmo posting some Nigel Saunders videos, not Nigel himself. Unless Hinmo is Nigel. And they commute a long long way.

My bad. I noticed it wasn't Nigel right after I posted the second entry. My comments on the screen size remain valid. Hopefully someone will still find them useful. And maybe Nigel might see it sometime.

Screen name refers to a very old programmer's trick and I'm a very old programmer 🤣

im frazzled, i mean flattered ;)

Nigel discovered on his own that the full screen was not a good idea and he pulled the one he had placed in the new pot and put individual screens in its place. I think he learned his lesson.
