Recently got some cypress, and other conifers and the bald and montezuma seem to be struggling. I know BC can change colors in the fall, but this seems something is wrong. I live on the oregon coast and water every day that it does not rain. Suggestions?

Oops, couldn't figure out how to edit. I had just planted this guy and took out quite a bit of the soil it was originally planted in while being super careful to not destroy the roots. The soil it was planted in, along with the redwoods, giant sequoia and hemlock were all really dense, dark soil. I read on here to use a mixture of pumice/pine chips and lava rock. I ordered it all from BonsaiSupply. I can clarify and answer any questions, or supply better shots. Thank you guys so much. I have been a lurker for a while and finally took the plunge to start up my own lil bonsai family from scratch.

Transplant shock, most likely. Not that this is the ideal time of year to be planting out species that really want to start napping for the fall.

Completely understandable and I wondered if that would end up being the case. It was the one with the longest taproot and most grown out of all of them as well.

Also want to mention I live in zone 9a
