Hello. I'm new to bonsai. Right now I'm in the research phase...trying to learn the technique and theory from books and online sources. However, my rental has some really old English ivy growing on trees outside. I thought it could be great pruning practice.
Is it hard to root old growth ivy? What is the best method? Right now I have 2 cuttings. One was dipped in root hormone and planted in potting soil. The other is just soaking in water (I sprinkled a little root hormone in the water. Is this okay?). I'm attaching a picture.
I'd really appreciate any advice.
Thanks,
John
