Yes, they were in the house for the initial "trim" and evaluation only. They were moved outside (to the backyard) as soon as I was finished. Their location is currently temporary as I plan to do a major backyard makeover in the spring with a lot of dedicated space. Lots of planning to do over the winter months, lots of ideas.
 
Juniper procumbens is fully winter hardy in your area, these will be best wintered outdoors. You can bury pots in the ground, & mulch. A spot in the shade all winter is ideal, and out of the wind. An unheated garage will work, or a car port. Tool shed. Any place that keeps them in shade and out of wind.
