Hi all, just getting into Bonsai. I have studied it for years off and on and even messed with a nursery tree (small) way back in the 90s but now that I am "retired" I may have more time to dedicate to the hobby.

I picked up two Dwarf Procumbens Junipers (Nana) this week as my first try. I removed some of the "bulk" so that I could get a better look at the overall characteristics of each but will leave them in the original pots for the time being without doing too much else until I get better educated.

Welcome. Look for a club near you. That is the best way to learn. Also here on the web you will find "instant experts" and then there are the quieter actual experts. Careful of who's advice you accept. Murfreesboro is a great area. Used to have a large distribution center there, loved going to check on them.
 
Welcome to The Nut. I'm am fairly new as well. You'll find answers to many questions searching old threads. I've learned a lot here from some very helpful members.
Enjoy being retired! I'm a retired Fire Fighter but work for myself in my backyard shop every day. Great for keeping up w/my trees.

Hello! Have you been to a Nashville Bonsai Society meeting? If not, we'd be happy to have you there! We have our club picnic this weekend and our November meeting next Tuesday.
