New Juniper

A quick post just to introduce my new yamadori Juniperus, come very cheap from an auction, at the moment I just cleaned the old wood, threated with jin liquid, cleaned the bark and covered with camelia oil.
In September I will do the first styling in spring 2027 the repot.
Any suggestion is welcome, since this is my second Juniperus.

I would consider styling it somewhat like this. You could style it now but since it is yamadori i would consider getting some good growth over this season and style in fall.. And probably remove some part of the lower jin

Thank you so much for your ideas, I will give a look in September when I will make the first styling with a friend of mine with plenty experience in Juniperus, sadly is very far to my house so we will see rarely. The plant is in this pot since three years, in September I will do the first style and in spring 2027 the repot.

Today the Juniperus is growing well, a nice green and a lot of new grows everywhere here are some pictures:

It is, also very multicultural since is basically inside German and France.

Thank you, my friend studied a lot also in Japan for some year and he is a Bonsai Teacher.
Sadly he lives almost 400km from me and we can see rarely....

I love it, very nice literati in the making. What variety do you think it is, Sabina? I’d definitely stick with a taller tree as per your first option - it will keep it much more dramatic, just follow the flow of that big deadwood Jin

Probably is a Sabina, yes the literati will be the path since this is the natural shape of this plant. About the long deadwood I am still in doubt if make shorter or not, we will see....
