Forgot to mention we had a lot of heavy rain around one to two weeks ago! which it's never experienced as it had been kept inside at the garden centre and for a week when I 1st got it. Also upped the nutrients to full strength 1 week ago i was only giving it half strength before that.

Here are some more photos of rest of tree if helps. Thanks in advance

Rainfall would not normally cause this type of symptom in UK .
We have had some hard frosts lately so that is the probable cause. You should keep it in a sheltered spot until it acclimatises to being outdoors and dont kill it with kindness by overfeeding !

Also going with frost damage, a tree in that stage should be shuffling when frost is predicted.

Thanks all. Yes we had a frost last week. So after everyone saying that's the problem I'm going with that. I'll move it inside if another frost comes along.

Hi there.

After a year this is how the tree looks. It grew really well throughout the summer. I'm going to change the soil to 80% A,P,L and 20% organic soil as I don't want to 100% A,P,L straight away, any thoughts on that. Also when I do the soil change does anyone have any alive on a drastic change? I'm not happy with the bulging at the top from two big branches growing directly opposite each other. I feel that the taper is bad and will only get worse over time. Any suggestions however big will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.20250208_085246.jpg20250208_085301.jpg20250208_085311.jpg

Thinking about it should I have just let the new growth keep growing? In order to eventually have something like this? Or should I be thinking some sort of major chop? I find it quite hard to visualise the future after say doing a big chop. But I also don't know if it should be left as is but with frequent small pruning. Could some please let me know some options or suggestions please?20250208_110614.jpg
