I didn't see an introduction subforum anywhere , if there is one forgive.

Recently we started getting into succulents and oddball "house" plant's

I have always had an interest in bonsai but never really looked at getting into until recently. I found some kit on amazon and some weeping willow cuttings on amazon.

So we'll see how the journey goes.

Welcome!

You'll find some great info on this site. Maybe start with some of these threads:

Welcome to the nut house Nate! The willow cuttings should root easily for you if they are fresh. It can be as easy as putting them in a glass of water.

We shall see once they get here , the store says they send "instructions" lol

I get about 99% success rate with the glass of water method. I rushed this years batch of corkscrew willows and still got about 75% with them. It will be interesting to see what the instructions say.

That makes me hopefull!!
My grandparents had a weeping willow in their back yard , always loved that tree , one year the decided to cut it down , they didn't take the stump out and it started growing new branches.

Well one of the kits came today , it was supposed to have wisteria, black pine , judas and red maple , which it has.
But alsos has flame tree , and silk mimosa seeds , but not enough pots.

Will any pot do?
Guess I need to hit the green house for some soil.
Also gotta find info on the free seeds

need to hit the green house

Hit the Napa for some Floor Dry #8822!

Welcome to Crazy!

Where you at?

What's in the list of oddball "house" plants?

Good sign that "house" was airquoted.

Funny you mention that, I was just looking at natures way "introduction to bonsai" class.
I'll have to check them out.

Welcome! There are much better pre bonsai then what you are looking to buy on Amazon, check out a nursery near you as stated, or buy from quality vendors, folks here will point you in the right direction , good luck on your journey

Just a heads up, don't be too disappointed if only a few of the seeds germinate.

You'll need something to work on in the next 10+ years growing a bonsai from seed. Box store junipers offer a fun learning platform that are affordable to boot. Where else can you spend $10-$15 bucks for hours and hours of enjoyment?

I am not getting my hopes up that any will sprout. But if some do fine , if non do fine too. The willows I ordered are cuttings.

There is a class in OCT , then one in November that has tropicals beside it. Not sure which on I'll go to yet.
