Good morning everybody. It’s been a long time since I’ve been on the site. A few years ago, all of my Bonsai ended up catching some sort of fungus, and I was not experienced enough to deal with it, and they all died. After they all died, life matters took over, so I kind of took a backseat for me, but that didn’t go that I didn’t look up items or trees. Which comes to my need of advice now. I moved from Northeastern Pennsylvania to Northwestern Pennsylvania yesterday we were on what’s called a maple tour where you go to all the different maple factories around the area and they do presentations on how to make And the history of it. Well, I’m the last tour we were walking around in the mud and freezing cold, and there was this small tree beginning to grow, I looked at It it ( Not to sound hippie, dippy )I felt the connection with it. I asked the woman if I was able to take the tree and she told me I was able to. Being on the maple tour, I’m almost positive that it’s a maple tree, but when I look online, I can’t seem to find it identification of it. I asked other people what they thought, and because of the bark being a white color this person said that it was not a maple. I’m going to post with this thread a few pictures of the tree can you guys and ladies please help me out with the identification. And is there any particular transplant things I should do? When I dug the tree, I carefully dug around the roots. I got all the roots intact with no damage. It was a half hour ride to the house, so soaked newspaper, put the roots in the newspaper and wrapped it as soon as I got home, I planted it in a decent size pot because if you see at the bottom of the tree, it actually has a s
Curve to it, which made the roots shoot out in the direction of that curve so I had to use a larger pot and plant the tree towards the side of the pot to get it to fit properly. I know a tree from nature to a pot is very difficult, so is there anything that I should do to ensure the health of the tree? But if you notice in the pictures, it’s a beautiful plan it’s starting the blood and everything. Even though I did Bonsai a few years ago and was a part of a Bonsai society I was still absolutely an amateur And of course I still am. But on this site, I met one of the best most knowledgeable guys in Bonsai. His name was Mr. Grimmy if anybody has been a while they would probably know who Mr. Grimmy is he mentor me for a year I went down to his house we ate slept drank Bonsai for a whole weekend, I even took my son down. I met his wife we had dinner. It was wonderful but he had passed away. So please try to remember that when you respond because my last time on the site, I asked a question it was Torn to Pieces and was told Mike question was easily found on the Internet so stop bothering stupid questions. Again, I would really love to see this thrive. Thank you so much for your time. I really look forward to being back Working on trees again. Have a good day everybody thanks again again.
Jay

It does not appear to be a maple, as the buds are alternately placed rather than opposite. I can’t identify it further than that from these pictures.
