I have this Portulacaria afra and, honestly, I’m not sure what to do with it. I’ve only wired a bonsai once before, and never with a clear vision or structure in mind. I’m struggling to figure out what to keep, what to remove, and how to move forward with it. I’ve added photos from all sides, and I think photo 1 will be the front, but beyond that I’m pretty lost. This was a gift, so I’d really like to do it justice.IMG_3230.jpeg

I suspect you can't decide what to wire because there's not much that can be improved by wiring. I would concentrate on getting it to grow and develop foliage pads and branches.
Wiring itself does not make a tree a bonsai. Wiring is used when we need to change the shape of some part of the tree.

It is definitely worth adding a location to your profile so we can recommend time of year to work on the tree and time not to. That can be particularly important with frost sensitive plants like Portulacaria.
