Hi guys

I was wanting to get some opinions on what would be the best potential nebari front for this tree. It's a Japanese Maple and I did a trunk chop, so will still introduce movement and taper, hence the top of the tree can be any front as the initial trunk is quite straight.

I've got 3 pics of the nebari and am not sure which one would work best as a front?

Any thoughts?

You can just reply in the order of the pics attached :) or the image name.

P.S. It is well watered, I just added a little more soil cause the level was too low, hence it looks so dry...

Thanks

As-is, the last pic is the best but if you remove that crossing root at the 1st pic, it is a top contender.

But . . . what does the trunk lead to or look like. There appears to be no appreciable taper.

I'd agree with this assessment, but remember that there are many ways to modify/improve nebari. Grafting seedlings is one option, wounding will sometimes induce new root formation, etc.
