So I pulled these out of an eroding bank. While they may look unnatural , as far as I can tell they are not man made. Found I. MD of US. Experimentation in my future.

Thanks. Now I'm trying to figure out if I should attempt to drill holes.....would be a shame to crack it.

I would imagine you could do it. Maybe with someone helping you by squirting water on it while you drill. They should sell specialty bits for similar material.
