National Bonsai Foundation Ending

Just saw the notification in the latest ABS magazine.
Im assuming lack of funds, donations, funding cuts made this reality possible.
Truly a sad thing for Bonsai

the National bonsai foundation was the 501 c3 organization formed to support the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum a public/private partnership with the National Arboretum/Department of Agriculture. That organization was absorbed into the Friends
Of the National Arboretum last month. I posted about that earlier this month

This has been coming for weeks. I don’t know what to think about and its impact on the National Bonsai Museum which has been the private group supporting the museum it the public/private partnership that sustains the museum. The duties now move to the Friends of the National Arboretum which supports the Arboretum overall. NBF supported the museum and the bonsai

The Friends of the National Arboretum (FONA) which took over the public/private partnership stewardship of the National Bonsai and Penjing Museum from the National Bonsai Foundation ahs made it easier to earmark donations to the museum
