Don't know variety. It was a "FREE TO GOOD HOME" tree at the club.
For scale, it's about 3.5 - 4" tall.
It was green when I got it last year. Maybe it's the cold but my other junipers that ordinarily "gray out" in cold are back to green.

I'm thinking I should probably cut/whack/mow/chop/prune back the foliage to keep it from lengthening more and maybe come in green.

But don't know.
What do you think? The color in the pix is about right with the closeup the closest.

I think your weird little Juniper is dead.
Sad organ music playing in the background.......We are gathered here today to remember Juniper Grey.....he was well loved by his club.........

On a more serious note running ones hand gently over the foliage may tell you.....if they crackel and snap.....then you have some firewood......

Interesting juniper. The foliage kinda looks like rosemary. Hope it bounces back. Good luck

There are some scattered green shoots at the end of some of the "too long" ends.
Also nothing is dry or crinkly and nothing breaks off.

That's what's weird.

It could be alright then....wait and see....one of mine goes dark blue and looks like death in winter but it is always fine...hope its okay though!!!

I'm gonna trot it off this morning to our little "work group" and have them look at it.

I'm.....almost....sure that I should cut it back HARD.

Otherwise it's gonna look like Whoopie Goldberg's dreadlocks if it puts growth on from where it is now.

Prognosis not glowing, but it is alive.
In bonsai, I guess that's cause for elation.

consensus was: Don't mess with roots; reduce foliage.
so.... that's what I did.

We shall see.
