My little Barbarella.( Japanese Barberry)

This is a tree that I bought this spring. i did just a bit of wiring and then just let it grow. I was hoping for some tips on how to develop natural looking branching. My first picture is of the front of the tree, the second is the back.

I don't know how old the op is, but Barbarella/Jane Fonda was a vociferous supporter of the North Vietnamese communist govt, and for that, I'll forever despise her.

I have never seen the movie, I just thought it is a great name for a barberry. And I didn't know that about Jane Fonda. Good to know!

I think it's slow growing, so I guess broom is the way to go.

All the growth you see is from the past two years, so it is actually pretty fast.
