My First Maple Attempt...

I have a favourite maple tree in my yard that lights up a brilliant yellow in fall and I love it...I found this little guy growing right below it and dug it up and potted it, hoping it's a seedling of the yellow tree.

My phone says it's a 'sugar maple', so we'll see if it get's bright yellow this fall...hope this one grows into a great tree.

It's an orchid mix that I had (Molly's), the tree so far seems to like it, it drains very well. (Everyone was telling me I was using a bad soil so I got this to try)

(Orchid Bark, Pumice, Red Lava, Bio Char, Huyga, Coco Chips, Black Lava, Akadama, Mycorrhizae Carrier)

Had two leaves when I potted it in May...it's pushing out leaves 7 & 8 now...keep growing little guy!

(it's about 5-6" high)
