I am new here, but not completely new in a branch...spent a lot of time with looking for a bonsai FORUM, where an advice of very high value can be recieved...and have chosen this one. I acquired my very first P. parviflora this spring, but you know-online shopping. She's very cute, in a good condition even after this hot summer. So far only some light works have been done on her-wiring and very light trimming. Major works will be done during ongoing months. But the issue is-buing it online I overlooked its size somehow. Its very small and my question is whether it should be kept in shohin size or there is any potential to let it grow. It's up to 20 cm tall and I would want a bigger pine (50-60cm). Sure I apologize for metric units, but that other are greek for me. Will try to attach a picture. Thank you.

But seriously... This forum is the best of the best... But american... I ask the administrator to delete my profile. I have almost forgotten... You live in communities, so remain and stay behind the ocean ...it's safer for the rest of the Universe...

I'd keep it a shohin considering how slowly they grow. There is certainly potential for it to grow to the size you desire, but would you have the time for that?

I can't say I understand what you are saying in your second post.

As far as the tree is concerned, you will likely not wind up with a large tree from this one. They are pretty slow growers, and you basically work with what you have, and gradually get a bit larger tree as you progress. You can do a lot with this tree with good wiring and branch placement, as a small tree.
Welcome to the forum.

Yes, Thank you. I am welcomed for a while I guess. A lot of work have been done since I acquired this tree-wiring, needle plucking, bud grading/sellection... The tree will stay shohin size I think. I will make decision while quarding it.

Hey bud. U came to our American site. No1 is putting you down or insulting you. Im guessing the post got looked over and not commented on as do hundreds of posts on this site. This doesn't mean your being ignored or we don't want to interact with you. Not all americans are fat lazy ass holes, many yes, but that number is far smaller in the bonsai community. Don't get all grumpy because 1 post about 1 tree got looked over. It happens all the time, American or not. Like u said this is the best bonsai site out there, so when it comes to getting info you need, most of the time someone else has already asked and your answer can be found with digging through old pposts and if not be patient someone who knows how to answer your questions will respond. . . eventually.

Happy Growing,
Blake
