My 1st air layer attempt

The magnolia and maples are easy to get roots on. The deodar I’m not sure about. Those pods can dry out if you have an extended dry spell so be sure to water them as needed. Nice set for a first go!

Agreed. The Deodar will be extremely difficult to layer, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try! Also, aren't Deodar Cedars usually sold non-grafted because they are the easiest Cedar to grow from seed (and, I think they are commonly the rootstock for the other grafted Cedars)?

I havent looked into it to be fair. I had an extra pod so thought why not give it a go! I think it can take up to a year to air layer so will just see how it goes.
 
The cedar may take a couple of years to root so be patient. I have wondered how those pods work so keep the thread alive.
