Help. I had mealybugs at the end of the summer, lost almost all of its leaves and then really thrives indoors with a grow light. I was away for a week and now it’s super infested with mealybugs. What can I do? I’m in Europe so most strong pesticides are not obtainable here due to laws.

I know you have P. Afra, but it should correlate.

So just alcohol and physical maintenance removing them… feels like I never will get rid of them :(

You know, these are tough plants! I would believe that if you proceed with this approach a couple/ few times you should be in the clear.

I would also make sure it’s not overwatered.

It’s been on a tray with some other plants under the grow light but all other plants seem fine from what I can see it.

Should I quarantine it without artificial light (it’s 100% darkness here at this time of the year) or keep it on the tray with the others?

Unless the other plants around it are also P Afra, or jade, I wouldn’t. Light is good.

Mealy bugs are tough to get rid of for sure. I've never had them on my trees but had an infestation on my office orchids. I sprayed with several insecticides and used a systemic. They're mostly gone but I still have one orchid that is still plagued with them. I would quarantine then from the other trees, they spread quickly.

Insecticidal soap. Drench thoroughly. If not all dead after 1-2 weeks apply again🥳.

They breed in the soil too, so you have to treat that as well as the tree itself, or they keep coming back. Systemics are best for these nasties. But if you're diligent and persistent in spraying the tree and soil with something less harsh, you should eventually win.
