So this all started way before I got serious into bonsai,,, before I ever collected a tree or thought about making my own trees from what I have growing around the yard or city. There is always at least 1 or 2 trees that piss you off when doing yard work.. you know the ones growing in funny places or that you repeatedly try to kill year after year and come back stronger and bigger next year... well this Mulberry tree was one of those dam trees..after cutting it down one year and burning it another next year, I decided if I can't win might as well join them and make his stubborn a$$ into a bonsai project. So the reason it's a Sumo is because I cut it down so far trying to kill it last year,,,sooooo this is the only way I could reclaim it as a project. I ma a overly slanting cut at the time because I thought I knew what I was doing but that probably wasn't the right direction but can't put it back now.. so has anyone attempted to try a Sumo Mulberry? How far can the leaves reduce? And anyone doing sumo projects got any tips? Btw i after pulling roots that chrisss crossed my yard,,pulling up grass alllllllllllllll the way to my neighbors yard 15 feet away under paver's I only pulled up about two carrots worth of roots and no feeder roots except a strand here and there.. now I'm assuming these Mulberry trees are bullet proof because I did burn it one year trying to kill it, but is it really?? Does my Sumo wrestler have a chance in hellcat to make new leaves this spring? I appreciate your thoughts and knowledge anyone that has ever worked on anything that my weird project involves...
